Market Rent includes members paying full housing charges for occupancy of a unit. Market rent is set by the Membership and increases annually for all households on the same date each year. Market rent in a housing co-operative is significantly lower than the rates charged by for-profit landlords.
Rent Geared to Income or RGI requires members to pay 30% of their monthly income as the housing charge for occupancy of a unit, while the remainder gets subsidized by Halton Region.
